Notice of Public Hearing Special Assessment District   March 8, 2021

NOTICE OF STREETLIGHT HEARING
Township of Vienna, Genesee County, Michigan

TO:  THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF VIENNA, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN, AND ANY OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that as a result of petitions of property owners within the township signed by the record owners of land whose area constitutes more than 50 percent of the total area of the hereinafter described Dutchman’s Cove special assessment district and the township board of the Township of Vienna proposes to install streetlights and create a special assessment for the recovery of the cost thereof by special assessment against the properties benefited herein.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the district within which the foregoing improvements are proposed to be constructed and within the cost thereof is proposed to be assessed is more particularly described as follows:

49 units within Dutchman’s Cove

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the township board has received engineering plans showing the improvement and an estimate of the costs of such construction in the approximate amount of $4680 for installation of 12 streetlights and $7.61 per light per month, has placed them on file with the township clerk, and has prepared a resolution declaring its intention to make the improvement and to create a special assessment district.  The township board has also tentatively found the petitions to be in compliance with statutory requirements.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that said plans, estimate of cost, proposed special assessment district and petitions may be examined at the office of the township clerk from the date of this notice through the date of the public hearing and may be examined at such public hearing.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that a public hearing on the petitions, plans, district and estimate of costs will be held via zoom on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 5:30PM.  Interested parties can view the hearing via live stream on our website at viennatwp.com/i_want_to/stream_live_meeting.php

At the hearing, the board will consider any written or verbal objections to any of the foregoing matters filed with the board at or before the hearing as well as any revisions, corrections, amendments, or changes to the plans, estimates and costs or special assessment district.  Written objections can be sent to Vienna Township Clerks Office at 3400 W. Vienna Road, Clio, MI  48420 or via email to mfalardeau@viennatwp.com.  In order to speak by telephone during the meeting, please sign up no later than March 8, 2021 at 4:30PM by doing the following:

  • Call 810-564-7077;
  • Leave name, spelling of name, address and telephone number on voicemail;
  • Each participant will be called to join the meeting to speak;
  • Staff will call the speaker during the public hearing and they will be allowed three (3) minutes to speak.  At the end of three (3) minutes, the line will be disconnected.
